You need JavaScript enabled to view it Research Interest: Her research interests include mathematical problem solving, classroom practices of mathematics teachers, gender issues in mathematics education, the development of curriculum materials which would encourage the teaching and learning of mathematics outside the traditional classroom such as Mathematics Trails and comparative studies in mathematics education such as IPMA and TIMSS. To date she has been involved in numerous international collaborative projects on mathematics education. She has supervised both PhD and Master degree students. She has given numerous presentations at conferences held in the region as well as in various parts of the world. Her publications appear in regional and international journals. She is also on the editorial boards of several local and international journals. In 2001, she was the president of the Association of Mathematics Educators in Singapore and in 2002, she was a research scholar at the International Study Centre (Lynch School of Education) in Boston College, Massachusetts, USA. In 2003 she was the recipient of the Teachers Network award in Singapore and in 2004 she was elected as the president of the Association of Mathematics Association for another term of office. |
